William M. Redden Jr., 77, went to run with the horses on March 24, 2020. He left this world doing what he loved, feeding his cattle on his ranch, “Redden Ranch.” Will or Willie was born June 19, 1942 in Hardin, Montana, he was member of the Crow Tribe. He ranched where he was raised his whole life, at the mouth of the Bighorn and Little Horn Rivers.

Will was proceeded in death by his first wife, Carolee L. Poitras; daughter, Kathy L. Redden; father and mother, William C. Redden and Elizabeth “Mae” Sucher; and his siblings, Stephen Ray Redden, Lula Mae (John) Lucero, Victoria Janean (Don) Watson and Lyle Redden.

Survivors include Will’s wife, Joyce Redden; his children, William L. “Billy” Redden, Stephanie (Clint) Higgins, Marla and Dean (Robyn) Syring; grandchildren, Cleve “Zac” (Christina) and Dakota Hammond and Jessica Syring; great-grandchildren, Zoie, Carmaa, Loralai and Stephen Hammond, Adeline Thomas, who affectionately called him Papa gape; he was also survived by his siblings; Betty Feller, Corinne Buechler, Pearl (Bob) Vandersloot, Ernest (Barb), and Dennis (Judy) Redden.

Will also had numerous nephews and nieces and many close friends. We will all miss his sense of humor, knowledge and his love.

Due to the current health crisis we can’t have a service. Will was cremated and a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. The family would love everyone to come out then and celebrate his life and share stories of him.
