Tracie Peterson scheduled to visit library on April 12

Literary Junction

As I am writing this, there are six inches of new snow outside on the ground and on my truck. Many of you know I love cold weather and all that goes with it, but I suspect I am not alone in my feeling that the novelty has worn off.

Now for something completely different. We celebrated Easter this past weekend, which of course means one thing: The stores will be selling discounted peeps from now until the end of June. You’ll want to get there early, though, to avoid the long lines. Be safe driving to the store in the aforementioned six inches of snow.

I suspect many if not most of you know about the upcoming event at the Big Horn County Library, which is the visit by bestselling author Tracie Peterson. You’ve probably seen posters at various places around Hardin advertising her visit with the time and location. For those who have not noticed the posters yet, however, she will be at library from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, April 12.

Mrs. Peterson’s novels can be found on the second floor of the library in the Family section. Peterson describes her stories as being historical romance. Most of her novels and series of novels take place in 19th century west, which of course includes Montana. She’s written well over 100 novels and non-fiction books, and continues to write from her home in Belgrade, Mont.

While at the Big Horn County Library, Mrs. Peterson will be giving a short 20-to 30-minute presentation about her writing and why she does what she does including the research that goes into it.

She then will take questions from those present who would like to find out more about her writing. Mrs. Peterson’s books will be available for purchase and she will sign them for you. In addition, there will be refreshments provided by the Friends of the Library.

This promises to be a very fun event that you won’t want to miss. If you have any questions regarding Tracie Peterson’s visit, or for that matter any other library matters, feel free to call us at (406) 665-1808.
