Romann Gabriel Bellrock, 33 of Crow Agency, Montana, a descendant of Chief Bell-Rock and Chief Plenty Coups went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 4, 2021.

Romann was born March 23, 1988, to Cleveland Bellrock and Leita Rides Horse. His aunt Treva Bellrock helped raise him in Wyola. He has two Apsaalooké names. He was given the name Gathering of the Angels by his godmother Fannie Cliff and Enemies’ Arrows Missed Their Mark by his grandfather John Holds the Enemy Sr.

Romann graduated high school in Lodge Grass in 2006. He held a few different jobs as a laborer, ranch hand, and firefighter. He was an avid Raiders fan and enjoyed rapping in concerts. As a child he was baptized in the Holy Ghost, spoke in tongues, and played piano.

Romann’s close family and mentors throughout his life included Tammy and Travis Brien Sr., Raven and Mary Price, William and Barbara Gardiner, Robert Nomee, Ethel Gardner, Judy Jefferson and Tina Gardiner. He loved his kids, nieces, and nephews dearly.

He is survived by his godparents are Fannie and Craig Cliff; grandmother, Mary Helen Medicine Horse; aunties, Katheryn Old Crow, Pam Little Light, Martha King, Sharon Kenyon, Sheila Rides Horse, Trivian Rides The Bear, Joni (Frank) Rowland, Jolene Rides Horse, Elizabeth (Earl) Old Chief, Reva (Darnel) Gardner, Honey Bun (Curtis) Medicine Horse, Autumn, Lessa and Jolee White Clay; uncles, Golden Eagle (Francis) Rides Horse, Gary Sr. and Sammy J. Rides Horse and Melvin Stops, Woodrow Brien, and Francis Sr. and Josh Sr. Springfield; goddaughter, Alexia Nomee; daughter, Gabrielle Bellrock; daughters he took in, Nicole Brien and Lovan Plain Bull; sons, Axel Dale and Brian Bellrock; sons he took in, Junior and Armondo Brien, and Tauren Jefferson; sisters, Tammy (Travis Sr.) Brien, Glendora (George) Goes Ahead, Paulette (Reuben) Falls Down, Lucille Faith Hogan, Jashawn Eagleman, Brittney Rondeau, and Danielle Rides Hose; brothers, Daniel Ride Horse, Dean Don’t Mix, Shane Rides The Bear, Dino, Robin, Jolly, Chris, Harlow, Al, Markus and C-dale Enick, Paul and Wade Amyotte, Louie and Ricky Jefferson, Eddie Gaines, Kyle Tsosie, Jameson Redstar, Jake Morning, Franklin Rowland, Gary Rides Horse Jr., Fatboy, Tony, RJ, and Todd; special friend, Kathy Vallie; as well as numerous adopted brothers and sisters.

Romann is preceded in death by his father, Cleveland Bellrock; his special aunt, Treva Bellrock; grandparents, Jack and Fannie (Other Black Bird) Deer Nose, and Calvin and Mary Bellrock; aunts, Violet Enick, and Ruby and Judy Plainfeather; sisters, Jocilynn and Susie Q.; brothers, John Stone, Michael “Feller”; and big nieces, Rory Mai and Lucia Eagleman.

Romann’s extended family includes the Bird Hat, Little Owl, Beaumont, Enick, Old Crow, DeCrane, Flatmouth, Nomee, Redstar, Bright Wings, Hold the Enemy, Howe and Good Luck families, as well as the Mary Ann Bear Below-Horn family, the Mary Driftwood Family and the family of Rosie Lincoln.

Our family is very large, if we have forgotten to acknowledge you in our time of grief please forgive us.

Roman’s mother, Leita Rides Horse, would like to extend her appreciation to St Vincent Healthcare for their excellent treatment of her son Romann during his time in their care. She would also like to thank Redstar Price, Mary and Raven Price and Carol Howe for their support during this difficult time, as well as friends and family members who contributed monetary gifts and food as we celebrated the life of Romann.

Funeral service was held on Friday, July 9 at the Apsaalooké Center in Crow Agency, Montana. Burial followed at the Lodge Grass Cemetery.
