Robert (Bob) L. Edwards, 79, of Hardin passed away peacefully with his wife by his side early the morning of Aug. 15, 2018.

He was born in Omaha, Nebraska on Nov. 8, 1938 to Truman and Inez Edwards. Bob was raised in many towns, growing up and graduated from West High School in Denver, Colorado in 1956.

After high school, Bob joined the Army reserve and did his basic training in Houston, Texas. He was honorably discharged in 1965.

Bob married and later divorced Betty in 1972. To the union, there were two children born: Alicia Edwards of Silver City, New Mexico and Scott Edwards of Salmon, Idaho. Bob spent nearly 50 years in the sales industry, selling everything from insurance to automobiles.

His love of the mountains and sales brought Bob to Bozeman, Montana, where he sold mobile homes. His career continued in Billings, where he started in sales at Frontier Chevrolet and worked his way up to new car manager.

In 1981, Bob met his wife Pam at Ohara’s restaurant in Billings and they were married in Cody, Wyoming in 1984.

In 1990, Bob and Pam moved to Hardin to make their home, and Bob worked at Hardin Auto until his retirement in 2005. During his retirement, Bob and Pam moved to Roundup, Montana for a short time and eventually moved back “home” to Hardin, where they have lived for the past four years.

Bob sold many vehicles during his career and was always most proud that he could call all of his customers friends. His handshake on a deal was a deal and his word was good as gold.

Survivors include his wife Pam of 34 years; daughter Alicia Edwards; son Scott Edwards; son Lance Gordon; two grandsons Eric and Aaron Gordon; sister Sue (David) Brown of Oregon; nephew Ethan (Allie) Brown and niece Amanda (Hector) Barragan, all of California; sisters-in-law Judy Sullivan, Cathy (Mike) Lahey and Debbie Nordlund; brother-in-law Dan (Eileen) Harper; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his sidekick Harley.

Cremation has taken place and, per Bob’s request, no services will be held. A celebration of Bob’s life will take place at a date yet to be determined. Bullis Mortuary has been entrusted with the arrangements.
