Living Root Farm has been one of several regular vendors at the River Valley Farmer’s Market. The market closes its season tonight with a Fall Festival.

The River Valley Farmers Market will host its final market of the 2019 season today from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

The Farmers Market has had a very good season, according to Jessica Mussetter, organizer for the River Valley Farmers Market.

“The markets have been doing really well as far as attendance goes,” said Mussetter. She added that over 400 people attended the “See You at the Beach” market on Aug. 22.

For the final market of the 2019 season is aptly titled “The Fall Festival,” it will feature an apple cider press demonstration shown by Dr. Ashley Quanbeck, as well as two food trucks, a scavenger hunt, crafts and games for the kids, and a music by Jerry Metcalf.

“Every week we have gotten more and more attendees,” Mussetter said.

Having themed markets seemed to draw different groups of people, she said.

“We want the market to be interactive especially for families and kids,” Mussetter said.

In its fifth season, the market is beginning to become a staple event in town because they have been so consistent each year, she added.

“Having food trucks and live music has been a great benefit for the markets,” Mussetter said.

She added that including local musical artists and creating a theme each week has brought in many different types of people.

“It is safe to say that we are going to expand more on the base that we have created,” Mussetter said.

The Fall Festival is the last chance to come and check out the vendors and the food, and the community is encouraged to come out and enjoy.
