Several Hardin Rainbow Dancers placed second in two dance numbers recently at the Spotlight Dance Competition in Billings, held Saturday and Sunday. Both dances also won the Category Winner for their dance in “Cookin’” and “Girls with Guitars.” Nancy Hernandez, the group’s teacher and director, also won an award for outstanding choreography in “Cookin.’”

The Spotlight competition included 700 dance numbers, which went from 7-11 p.m. each day.

The dancers, who performed in the 9-to 10-year-old age category, are Malea Contreraz, Mia Doyebi, Suellyn Walks and Krishante Kills on Top. Through their efforts, the girls qualified for Dance Nationals, and possibly will be attending the competition over the summer in July.
