Plethora of activities kicks off summer season at Senior Center

Our Mother’s Day Honoring Dinner was held Friday, May 10 with 40 guests being served at the Hardin Senior Center. Kenny Mikami, former Lodge Grass Supervisor, had two Mother’s Day bouquets donated. These bouquets were taken home by drawing winners Pat Anderson and Shirley Margheim. Three siblings shared the same grandmothers; this being the Uffelmans, Clara, Betty and Henry. Harvey Warren and I shared a maternal grandmother, Catherine Schubert, and he shared a paternal grandmother, Maude Warren, with his cousin Tom Warren.

The Seniors Association held their meeting on May 10. Fund raiser ideas and future activities were discussed. Picnics at the museum are planned for June, July and August.

Bingo in Billings for the Big Timber Hospitality House Senior Center is on Thursday, June 6. The senior bus will not transport people from Hardin, but if you would want someone to play a ticket for you, we can take care of that for you. The tickets are $10 each for one card.

A representative from the Social Security Administration, David Bauer, will speak at the Hardin Senior Center on Tuesday, June 11 at 10:30. He will then attend the Chamber of Commerce meeting at noon that day. Please plan on attending if you have questions for him.

The E & R Church Women’s Guild donated to the Homebound or Needy Persons Nutrition program of the C.O.A. Thank you, ladies, for your continued support.

The famous chili and cinnamon roll day is on Tuesday, May 28. Call us by Friday, May 24 if you plan on attending. Donation cost for persons over the age of 60 is $3.50 on this Tuesday. For persons under the age of 60 the cost is $4.50 on this day.

Fun For You Day is on Wednesday, May 29 from 12:45 to 3:15 p.m.

Blood pressure checks will be given on that day with Esther Wynne at 11:30 a.m.

Starting June 1 there will be an increase in donation meal cost by 50 cents. The congregate meal donation cost for over the age of 60 will be $5, under age 60 is $6. Home delivered meal donation cost for over the age of 60 will be $5.50 and takeout meals for under the age of 60 will be $6.50. These changes will be in effect for both the Hardin and Lodge Grass Senior Centers of the Big Horn County Council on Aging. There has not been an increase since 2013. Thank you for your continued support for the aging services offered in our communities.
