Lennis L. Lammers

Captain Lennis L. Lammers, born in Hardin in 1937 to George and Mayma Lammers of the Lammers Trading Post, died of natural causes on May 31, 2022.
A Naval Academy and Naval Postgraduate School graduate, Len had a stellar Naval career serving in submarines, Washington, DC and finished his career as Shipyard Commander of Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, New Hampshire. During his military career, he was awarded six medals of Meritorious Service.
After retiring from the Navy, Len worked as a Nuclear and Maintenance contractor for Fortune 500 corporations world-wide. He was an avid hunter, a talented musician and a published author.
He was preceded in death by his Army Ranger Officer son Steven, his brothers Harold and Gayle, and his sister Joanne.
Len is survived by Bea (his wife of 60 years), daughters Laura and Naoko, granddaughter Julia and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Military Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at 3:00 PM at the Hardin Fairview Cemetery. All are welcome.
