Indians fall to Broadus Hawks

Senior Quarterback D.C. Stewart rushed for a total of 122 yards on 10 carries against the Broadus Hawks.

Under the Friday Night Lights, the Mighty Indians hosted rival Powder River Hawks. At the end of the first half, the Indians trailed by 7 points, closing the lead to 5 at the end of the third quarter.

The Indians just couldn’t handle the ball as well, turning it over several times and on the defensive end, missed a couple major tackles as the Hawks commanded the gridiron, winning the game with a final score of 51-20.

Senior Quarterback D.C. Stewart rushed for a total of 122 yards on 10 carries, scoring on one; he also completed 9:25 in the air, making good for 2 touchdowns. On the other side of the ball, Stewart played excellently in the backfield, deflecting a pass.

Senior Running Back Ty Mocassin rushed for 48 yards on 15 carries, caught three passes for 41 yards including a TD. Defensively Mocassin had a QB sack.

Senior Damon Gros Ventre caught 5 passes for 108 yards, and a TD.

Running Back Chance Pretty On Top rushed for 10 yards on 5 carries, and played good defence and also was the kicker. The Junior Center/Defensive lineman had a quarterback sack and was solid on both sides of the coin.

Senior Offensive and defensive lineman Kadin Small also had a QB sack and a tackle for a loss of Hawk yardage. Lodge Grass held the Hawks scoreless in the 2nd quarter. The Indians next game will take them across the Border of North Dakota to take on Mon-Dak on Friday, October 8.
