Dear Citizens of Hardin,

I would like to thank those of you who took the time to complete the Community Needs Assessment.

This information will help the city to plan and prioritize its current and future project needs. I especially appreciate the comments and thoughts that went into your responses, and for the detailed concerns you expressed in your letters.

This survey helped to validate that the people who live here want to stay here!

This small community remains home to our family and friends. Our local businesses provide quality services and products to help our community thrive. Maintaining and improving the quality of our city continues to be yours and the city’s priority.

As in all communities, there is the need for improvement. The survey results expressed the desire for some growth in the number of retail shops and grocery stores, and the need for increased job opportunities and industrial growth.

The survey also helped us at the city to validate the areas in need of improvement, such as our aging sewer treatment plant, our city streets, law enforcement and overall economic development.

This brief summary only touches a few of the areas listed on the survey. I invite you to read the entire survey and its results to see the opinions and concerns of the City of Hardin residents.

Please join me at a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6 at the Hardin Depot for discussion and questions regarding this community needs assessment and the needs of our city.
