Hardin’s Bruno Pallone wins AAU state folkstyle wrestling championship

Bruno Pallone was the only Hardin member of the Amateur Athletic Union to place first at the State AAU Folkstyle Wrestling Tournament this past weekend in Great Falls.

Swayde Schindler and Conner Schwend both placed second. Noah Ellison, James Porter and Cale Nedens all placed third. Flair Popetsaitke placed fourth and Brody Nedens sixth.

Twenty-three Hardin wrestlers attended the tournament, which had 1,335 wrestlers from Montana and adjoining states. Hardin wrestlers won 48 matches and lost 42. Nedens and Ellison both wrestled six times, and ended with records of four wins and two losses each.

The AAU wrestlers’ next tournament was the Darkhorse meet in Billings, held Sunday, March 18.
